SCAEYC PLANS LEADERSHIP DAY
OCTOBER 15, 2009

The South Carolina Association for the Education of Young Children’s Leadership Day will be on October 15, 2009 at the Columbia Marriott Hotel and is a part of the SCAEYC Annual Conference. The Leadership Day will feature Dr. Larry Schweinhart, President of the High/Scope Foundation. The agenda for the day includes a keynote presentation by Dr. Schweinhart on The Changing Landscape of Early Childhood Education as well as presentations by Dr. Rex, State Superintendent of Education, and an agency panel of directors to include Head Start, First Steps, ABC Child Care, and the Children’s Trust Fund. A luncheon will be provided for participants and there will be an opportunity to visit the exhibit area and collaborate with vendors regarding your educational resource needs. The afternoon will consist of a variety of break-out groups that will address important topics related to your professional position and responsibilities, as well as focus on critical issues in early childhood statewide and nationally. Leadership Day provides you with a unique professional opportunity to network with other public school coordinators, agency heads, and program leaders at the local, state, and national levels.
